What does the installation price include?

The base service is for replacing a vanity in the same position, using the existing water and waste points. It includes:

  • Turning off the water and disconnecting the existing vanity.
  • Moving the old unit clear of the work area and fitting the new one.
  • Connecting the basin, tap and waste, with new seals and connections where needed.
  • Silicone sealing to the wall and benchtop.
  • Pressure and leak testing, cleaning up and taking our work rubbish away.

One tap installation is included with each vanity. Have your tap ready, or buy a tap from us and add it to the same order. You pay for a supplied tap itself; fitting that one tap is included.

What can change the total?

Does it need assembly?

A vanity that arrives built and ready to fit has no assembly charge. If it comes in pieces, select assembly on the service page. The extra amount is shown before you add it to your cart.

Do you want the old one taken away?

Select disposal if you want us to take the old vanity away. Choose to keep it and we leave it clear of the work area for you to arrange disposal. Your selected option is included in the total.

Floor-standing and wall-hung vanities have the same base installation rate. No plug and waste for the basin? Choose the option for us to supply one; its extra amount is shown with it. Ask us about your vanity if you are unsure.

What is outside the fixed installation price?

The fixed price does not include moving water or waste pipes, tiling or wall and floor repairs, electrical work, or cutting a stone benchtop. Supplying the vanity, basin and tap is separate.

If we find an issue such as corroded pipes or a seized valve, we explain what is needed and its price, and agree it with you before starting that extra work.

Vanity installation by type

Wall-hung vanities

We fit a wall-hung vanity only where the one being removed is wall-hung too, because it needs timber, double brick or concrete behind the wall to hold its weight. The base installation rate is the same as for a floor-standing unit, with replacement in the same position using the existing water and waste points.

Send a photo of your current vanity, wall and pipework before booking if you are unsure about the wall or fit. Wall repairs and moving plumbing are outside the fixed installation scope; any extra work is explained, priced and agreed first.

Floor-standing vanities

We fit the replacement floor-standing vanity in the old unit's position and connect it to the existing water and waste points. Have the unit ready on site and select the assembly option if it arrives in pieces.

Removing the old unit from the work area is included; taking it away is the disposal option. Moving pipes, wall or floor repairs and stone-benchtop cutting are separate from standard fitting, with any extra work priced and agreed before starting.

Check the existing basin, waste and tap points. Connecting the basin, tap and waste is included, with new seals and connections where needed. One tap installation is included with each vanity; have your tap ready. If the waste is in the wrong place or water pipes need moving, the plumber explains the extra work and cost for your approval before starting.

Before you book

  1. Check your postcode in our service area. We install across most of Sydney metro.
  2. Have the vanity on site before the visit. A photo of your current vanity and the pipework underneath helps us check the job.
  3. Choose your vanity options on the installation page. Review the total, add the service to your cart, then choose the available day and arrival window at checkout.

Book online with a $1 payment by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The rest is paid after installation, once the job is done — by cash or PayID, as set out on your invoice.

Installation has a 12-month workmanship warranty. The vanity's manufacturer warranty and your consumer-law rights remain separate. Read our warranty and returns policy.

Vanity installation questions

Check the service options before you book so you know what your total covers.

Who installs bathroom vanities?

TapLife’s licensed NSW plumber fits the vanity you supply in the existing position, connects the basin, tap and waste, then seals and leak-tests the installation. Choose wall-hung or freestanding, assembly, plug and waste, and old-vanity disposal on the vanity installation page to confirm your scope and total. Moving plumbing, wall or floor repairs, electrical work and stone-benchtop cutting are outside the fixed installation scope.

How much does vanity installation cost in Sydney?

TapLife's base vanity installation price is $400 including GST. You supply the vanity. Assembly, plug-and-waste and old-vanity disposal choices can change the total, which is shown on the service page before you book.

How long does vanity installation take?

Most vanity installations take two to three hours. If your vanity needs assembling first, allow about another hour. Choose an available day and an arrival window at checkout: 8am to 12pm, or 12pm to 5pm (not on Fridays). Check assembly and disposal options before booking.

Will you take my old vanity away?

Choose the disposal option on the vanity installation page if you want us to take it away. You can also choose to have it left clear of the work area. The selected option is included in your displayed total.

Can you install a wall-hung vanity?

Yes, if the vanity being removed is wall-hung too. A wall-hung vanity needs timber, double brick or concrete behind the wall to hold its weight. Floor-standing and wall-hung vanities use the same base installation rate. Contact us with a photo before booking if you are unsure about the wall or the existing plumbing.

Does vanity installation include fitting my basin tap?

Yes. Fitting one tap is included with each vanity installation. Have the tap you already own ready on site. If you buy a tap from TapLife, add it to the same order: you pay for the tap itself, with its installation included. Check the vanity installation options before booking.

Does vanity installation include moving water or waste pipes?

No. The fixed price assumes your new vanity goes where the old one was, using the water and waste points already there. Check the vanity installation scope before booking.
