Ordering from TapLife
Taps, showers, vanities, dishwashers, grab rails, laundry tubs, water filters and cooktops, installed across most of Sydney metro. Choose a product with installation, or book installation only for something you supply. We also offer gas cooktop cap-offs. Your total is shown before you pay.
How does ordering work?
Choose a product with installation, or an installation-only service, and add it to your cart. Choose an available installation day and arrival window at checkout. We bring the products you buy from us; have any items you supply ready on site. Made-to-order products are booked once they arrive.
Can I use a product I have already bought?
Yes. Choose Installation only for an item you supply, then choose your day and arrival window. Installation-only prices: Mixer tap $180; Shower $180; Under-sink filter $230; Whole-home filter $480; Laundry tub $450; Vanity $400; Dishwasher $200; Grab rail $170; Cooktop $250, including GST. Removing an old gas cooktop? Gas cooktop cap-off is $170. A 3-piece tap set you supply (a spout and two separate handles) is $220, because it takes longer to fit and needs different fittings. Choose the service that matches your job and review its included work and options before booking.
Can I have several items installed at once?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper. The item with the highest installation rate pays its normal price and most other items fitted during the same visit drop to a discounted add-on rate — extra taps are $50 each and extra showers $100, for example. The exceptions are cooktops, whole-home filtration systems, dishwashers and gas cooktop cap-offs, each priced per unit. Add everything to one order and choose a single installation day so the plumber does it all in one trip.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest. Creating an account simply lets you view your order and change your installation day later without needing the link from your confirmation email.
Your installation day
Our licensed, insured NSW plumber carries out your installation (Lic. 498555C). Gas work is carried out by a licensed gasfitter. Delivery is included when we supply the product. Choose an available day and arrival window at checkout.
How do I choose my installation day?
At checkout you pick a date from the calendar and an arrival window — 8am to 12pm, or 12pm to 5pm (Fridays: mornings only). Whole-home filtration, vanity and laundry tub installs are not booked on Fridays. You will receive confirmation of that date and window with your order. There is no need to phone to arrange a time.
How soon can you install?
Checkout shows the days we currently have open for your service, and every available day costs the same: there is no priority or rush fee. Order an in-stock item before 12pm Sydney time and tomorrow can be offered while a slot is still free. We install seven days a week (Fridays: mornings only). Whole-home filtration, vanity and laundry tub installs are not booked on Fridays. Made-to-order items are booked once they arrive. If you need something urgently, call or text us and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
How long does an installation take?
A straightforward tap changeover usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. A laundry tub typically takes one to two hours. An under-sink water filter takes around an hour, and a whole-home filtration system installed at the mains takes longer again. The plumber will let you know on arrival if your job looks like an exception.
What is included in the installation price?
One fixed fee covers the work described in your chosen service, its applicable safety checks, tidy-up and our workmanship warranty. Delivery is included when we supply the product. Removal of an old item is included only where your service or selected option says so. Eligible extra items fitted on the same visit have lower installation rates. The exceptions are cooktops, whole-home filtration systems, dishwashers and gas cooktop cap-offs, each priced per unit. Any additional work is priced and agreed before it starts.
Does someone need to be home?
Yes, please. We need someone there to let the plumber in, show them the work area and the water isolation points, and have a look at the finished job before they leave.
What if my existing plumbing needs extra work?
Occasionally a plumber finds something that could not be seen when you ordered — corroded or non-standard pipework, a seized isolation valve, or a cabinet that needs modification. If additional work is needed, the plumber explains the situation and the cost before doing anything further. Nothing extra is ever charged without your approval.
Can I change my installation day?
Yes. Get in touch and we will move it, or if you have an account you can change the date and arrival window yourself from your order. We ask for as much notice as possible so the slot can be released to someone else.
Water filtration and made-to-order items
Most tapware is held ready to go. Some water filtration systems are ordered in specifically for you. Check the product page for its stock and booking information before ordering.
What does made to order mean?
It means we do not hold that item on the shelf and will order it in for your job. These products are marked on the website with the time they usually take to arrive, currently 5–10 days. No installation date is requested at checkout, because we will not promise you a day we cannot guarantee.
When do I book the installation for a made-to-order item?
Once your item arrives we email you a link to choose your installation day and arrival window. Nothing is required from you in the meantime — we will let you know the moment it lands, and your price is fixed either way.
Which water filter suits my home?
An under-sink filter or reverse osmosis system treats the drinking water at one tap and suits most households wanting better-tasting water for drinking and cooking. A whole-home system treats the outlets connected downstream of its installation point. Confirm which outlets will be connected before booking. If you are unsure, call us and describe your setup.
Payment
Your total covers the products and installation services you choose, including GST. Delivery is included when we supply the product. No call-out fee or hourly rate. Book online with a $1 payment by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The rest is paid after installation, once the job is done — by cash or PayID, as set out on your invoice.
How do I pay?
Book online with a $1 payment by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay — that secures your installation day. The rest is paid after the job is done, by cash or PayID, as set out on your invoice and our terms. There is no big payment up front.
Why is there a $1 booking payment?
It confirms a genuine booking with a real card, so we can hold your installation day and get your fixture ready. It is part of your total price, not an extra charge — the balance on your invoice is the total less what you paid to book.
When is the balance due?
On completion of the installation, as set out on your invoice and in our terms. Pay your plumber by cash or by PayID, whichever suits you.
Is the price I see the full price?
Yes. Your configured total includes the product and installation, including GST. For bring-your-own services, you supply the fixture. Every available installation day costs the same. Any options or extra items you choose are shown before payment. Bundle rates apply to eligible extra fixtures. The exceptions are cooktops, whole-home filtration systems, dishwashers and gas cooktop cap-offs, each priced per unit.
Do I get a tax invoice?
Yes. A GST tax invoice is issued for every order and emailed to you, which is what you need for a rental property, an insurance claim or a depreciation schedule.
Where we install
TapLife is a Sydney business and installs across most of Sydney metro.
Do you service my suburb?
We cover most of the Sydney metropolitan area, including the Inner West and Eastern Suburbs, Parramatta and the Hills District, Blacktown and Western Sydney, Liverpool and the South-West, Penrith and the Nepean, Canterbury-Bankstown, and south to Sutherland. We do not attend the Sydney CBD, and a few outer and water-access suburbs are outside our run. Check your postcode on any product page before you order. Your address is also checked at checkout, so if we cannot reach you the order will not go through and you will not be charged.
Do you charge a travel or call-out fee?
No. Travel within our service area is included in the installation price. There is no call-out fee and no minimum spend.
Warranty, faults and returns
If we supplied the product, come to us about any fault: sorting out whether it is the product or our installation is our job, not yours. If you supplied the fixture, our workmanship warranty covers our installation, and the product's own warranty stays with its seller or manufacturer.
What happens if the tap develops a fault later?
Email us at [email protected] with your order number and a photo. If we supplied the product, we handle its product claim and liaise with the manufacturer where needed. Our 12-month workmanship warranty covers our installation: if our work caused the fault, we come back and put it right at no charge. If you supplied the product, its own warranty stays with the seller or manufacturer. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are additional and do not end when a manufacturer warranty does.
Can I return something I have changed my mind about?
Please choose carefully: we do not offer refunds for change of mind once a product has been supplied or installation has started. If you need to cancel before then, contact us as soon as possible; a cancellation fee may apply to cover costs already incurred, such as sourcing the product. Special-order items, marked as such on the product page, cannot be cancelled for change of mind once ordered. Faulty or incorrectly supplied goods are always covered under Australian Consumer Law.
My order arrived damaged or is not what I ordered.
Tell the plumber on the day if you spot it during the visit, or contact us straight away afterwards. We will replace the item and return to complete the installation at no additional cost.
Compliance and safety
Plumbing work in New South Wales is regulated, and for good reason — a bad connection can cause thousands of dollars of water damage.
Why can I not install a tap myself?
In NSW, replacing tapware and water filtration is plumbing work that must be carried out by a licensed plumber. Beyond the legal position, a DIY connection that later leaks can give your insurer grounds to reject the claim, which turns a straightforward job into a very expensive one.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. All work is performed by a licensed NSW plumber holding Plumbing Licence 498555C, and we carry public liability insurance. The licence number appears on your invoice.
Do I get paperwork for the work?
You receive a tax invoice recording the work performed and the licence it was performed under. Where a job requires a Certificate of Compliance under NSW regulations, that is issued as well.
