Will you take the old tap away?

Yes. Disconnecting and taking away your old tap is included in this service.

Can I have several taps fitted on the same visit?

Yes. Choose the quantity you need and review the updated installation price. The price breakdown shows the rates that apply to your booking.

Can you replace a bathroom basin tap using the existing tap layout?

Yes, if the new tap is compatible with your basin and the existing service points. Check the number and position of the tap openings and where the spout needs to reach. Send us photos of the basin and existing tap before booking if you are unsure about the fit.

Mixer or 3-Piece Tap Set?

When you book, tell us which kind of tap you have. A mixer is one tap with a single lever or handle for both hot and cold. A 3-piece tap set has a separate spout and two handles, one hot and one cold, each fitted through its own hole. A 3-piece set takes longer to fit and needs different fittings, so it adds a fixed amount to the installation, shown on that option before you book. Fitting both kinds? Add each one separately with its own answer.

How It Works

  1. Choose & Add to Cart: Say whether your tap is a mixer or a 3-piece set, and match the quantity to the number of taps you need fitted.
  2. Choose Your Time Slot: Select your installation date and arrival window using the live booking calendar at checkout — 8am to 12pm, or 12pm to 5pm (Fridays: mornings only).
  3. We Install: A fully licensed, insured TapLife plumber arrives with the tools needed to fit your supplied tap, tests it and tidies up.

Fitting More Than One Tap

Replacing the kitchen and both bathrooms at once? Set the quantity to the number of taps you need fitted. Each additional tap installed during the same visit is charged at a reduced rate, because the plumber is already on site. The exact figures update live in the Installation only price breakdown on this page as you change the quantity.

Important Checklist for “Bring Your Own Tap” Customers

  • The installation fee assumes standard replacement on existing, compliant plumbing connections. If your pipework needs major modification or a compliance upgrade, your plumber will explain the situation and the cost on site before doing any additional work — nothing extra is ever charged without your approval.
  • Please make sure your new tap, including all supplied manufacturer components (washers, nuts and braided hoses), is on site at the time of your appointment.

Why Use a Licensed Plumber

In New South Wales, replacing tapware is regulated plumbing work. A DIY connection that later leaks can give your insurer grounds to reject the claim, and a poorly seated mixer can weep behind a cabinet for months before you notice. Every TapLife installation is carried out by a licensed, insured NSW plumber (Licence 498555C), so the work is done to standard and documented on your tax invoice.

Shower Heads and Rails Are a Separate Service

This service covers tapware: kitchen mixers, basin sets, laundry taps, bathtub spouts and shower mixers. If what you have bought is a shower head, rail shower, hand shower or twin shower set, that is a different job with different wall fixings and sealing — book Bring Your Own Shower Head/Rails instead.

Servicing most of Sydney metro — from the Inner West and Eastern Suburbs to Parramatta, the Hills, Blacktown, Liverpool, Penrith, Campbelltown, Bankstown, the St George area and the Sutherland Shire. Fixed price, licensed plumber, 12-month workmanship warranty.

Why it has to be a licensed plumberNSW licensing rules

In NSW, tap installation is plumbing work that must be done by a licensed plumber — and a DIY connection that later leaks can give your insurer grounds to refuse a claim. Yours is done by ours — Lic. 498555C.

Warranty: what’s coveredOur workmanship · the maker’s warranty · your ACL rights

Our 12-month workmanship warranty covers the installation: the connections we made and the way we fitted it. If something we did causes a leak or a fault, we come back and put it right at no charge.

The tap you supply keeps its own manufacturer’s warranty. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply on top of both.
