How much does grab rail installation cost?
The installation-only price is $170 for the first rail and $100 for each extra rail fitted on the same visit, including GST. These are fixed installation prices, with no hourly rate or call-out fee. The rail itself is separate.
Supplied and installed grab rails currently start at $192.40 including GST. Each product page shows the rail price, installation and total together. Compare grab rails with installation, or book installation for a rail you already own.
What does the fixed installation price include?
We agree where you want support, find suitable fixing points and check the fitted rail is secure. The service includes:
- Agreeing the height and position of each rail with you.
- Finding solid fixing points in the wall behind.
- Drilling through tile where needed.
- Fixing the rail with fixings suited to your wall and checking it is secure.
- Sealing around the fixings and cleaning up.
Why does the wall behind the rail matter?
A grab rail has to take your full weight when you need it. It must be fixed into solid timber, masonry or proper backing behind the wall. Plasterboard or tile alone is not a solid fixing point.
If there is no solid fixing point where you want the rail, the plumber explains the options and their price before doing any extra work. Nothing extra is charged without your approval, and you are free to say no.
What is outside the fixed installation price?
Adding timber backing inside a wall, tiling, patching and painting are outside the fixed installation price. Supplying the rail is also separate when you book installation only.
Already bought the rail? Have it on site before we arrive, with the fixings that came with it. Allow access to the room and have an idea of where you want each rail.
Choose the length, finish and rail that suits your space
Check the length, shape, finish and specifications on the rail’s own page. Weight ratings differ between products; the wall still needs suitable solid fixing points.

Grab rail installation questions
The price, wall fixings and what to have ready.
How much does grab rail installation cost in Sydney?
The first rail costs $170 to install, and each extra rail fitted on the same visit costs $100, including GST. The rail itself is separate. There is no call-out fee or hourly rate.
Can you install a grab rail I have already bought?
Yes. Book grab rail installation only and have the rail and its supplied fixings on site before we arrive. We agree the height and position with you and find solid fixing points in the wall.
Can a grab rail be fixed to tiles?
Drilling through tile is included where needed, but the rail must be fixed into solid timber, masonry or proper backing behind the wall. Tile or plasterboard alone is not enough.
Is adding timber backing inside the wall included?
No. Adding backing inside a wall, tiling, patching and painting are outside the fixed installation price. If there is no solid fixing point where you want the rail, we explain the options and their price before any extra work. Nothing extra is charged without your approval.
Who chooses the rail’s height and position?
We agree the height and position of each rail with you. Have an idea of where you want support before we arrive; the chosen position needs suitable solid fixing points behind the wall.
Do you also supply grab rails?
Yes. Browse our grab rails and choose a product with installation. Its page shows the rail price, installation and total, so one booking covers supplying and fitting it.
